Forgive me my mommy brag, but I am just so darned proud right now!

Tonight was parent-teacher conference night at C's new high school.

OMG! Julie she sounds just like me when I was a teen and young adult! I was the very same way, everyone thought I was the most together, self-confident teen they knew and same when I was in my 20's But inside I was none of those things. I had no confidance at all, but I had courage and I guess that is what made the difference. I would just do what had to be done and pretend I was fine. If you act like you are doing fine, people think you are and they admire you for it.

I learned in my later 20's that I was actually exactly who people always thought I was. Every job I have ever been in, I end up being the leader, actually not just in jobs. It happens in church, PTA any kind of volunteer position too. Some people just end up in those positions and are meant for them. Looks like she may be a lot like I was.

Congrats on raising an awesome DD!!

A few years ago, when N was in the midst of her 12-13 y/o nastiness I was pleasantly surprised at P/T conferences to find that the adults at the school found my nasty, moody, rude DD to be "a pleasure to have around, cooperative and hard working, and a leader among her friends."
