PSAT scores!

Just wanted to crow about my daughter - who has been having academic and other issues this year... She called me from school to let me know that the PSAT scores came back and she scored in the 98% percentile

individual scores are :

critical reading 70
mathematics 61
writing skills 76

I know these scores aren't really good for anything but I'm happy to know she's capable of this ... It should help the college search a little.

I wouldn't say the scores aren't really good for anything--what about the NMF scholarships? I don't know if 98th %ile is good enough for that, but it very well could be. (Only my older brother was a NMF--my two sisters and I, DS24 and DS18 didn't come close.)

Tell your DD congratulations and to keep up the good work!

It's a little confusing but I think if there is no asterisk on the raw score, then the student is entered in the competition that could ultimately lead to a scholarship. My DS got a 198, which gave him a "no asterisk" but I hear that he is unlikely to get anything in our state where the competition is tough. However, it looks like your DD scored higher and if your state is not as competitive, then perhaps she could get some funds. Check out the College Board website. Congrats!
