Oh, I had to laugh! School dance last night, and my 14 year old dressed up. I should mention that she's developed a nice little figure, but my husband was studiously not noticed..I thought he'd faint the first time he found a bra in the laundry! But she always dresses very conservatively. Last night she decided to wear a relatively low-cut (for her) and tight fitting tank top (a long gold one), with the intention of wearing a little velvet jacket over top. It really did look very nice....but she modelled her outfit for us with the jacket off. My husband LITERALLY spat out his coffee and said "OMG!" and our 15 year old foster son yelled "MORGAN! go put some clothes on!". LOL - and really - it was still a very tasteful outfit. Later our foster son admitted that Yeah, all the girls at school dress like that and there is nothing wrong with it, but "not my sister!!" Ah...can't wait till the little one starts to grow up - her poor father will probably have a heart attack.

LOL Those poor girls with protective daddies and big brothers! N is in much the same boat. Last summer she was on her way to dinner wearing a cute tank top and skirt that flattered her figure but didn't really reveal anything. S was home on leave, was having fits that "you aren't letting her go out in THAT are you?" Had to remind him that he didn't seem to have a problem with it when his g/fs and now his wife wore something similar. A few weeks ago, N and T were watching movies in the living room with the lights dimmed a bit - J who has been known to watch movies in the dark with his g/fs walked into the living room, turned every light in the room on and said "leave them on or you're a dead man T!!" Ah, yes, the double standard is alive and well in our house.

LOL! My poor DH almost stroked out the first time he saw our DD dressed up! He kept staring at her and looking at me saying "Are you really going to let her go out like that?! I can't believe you are letting her wear that!" Mind you, there was only a hint of cleavage and she was fully covered--long dress, not backless. I think he was hoping for a tent with 3 holes in it for her head and arms...lol! He just couldn't believe that his baby was growing up. She's 18 and at University now...lol. He's somewhat better, or at least has better control over his outbursts!

Too funny!! I bet Morgan looked wonderful! It's not easy to see the grown up body emerging, but OTOH it's the inevitable path for our girls and we would want nothing less for them!

My similar story is I sent Leah to school on the first day dressed nicely - tank/cami top with blouse over it. Imagine our surprise when school pictures came back with no blouse in sight! She looks great, but as her grandma says "what happened to the shirt!?"
