DD and her four bffs do an annual gift exchange, and tonight's the night! They set a price limit and then work hard to find the perfect gift for each other. Since they've been a "group" since 7th grade, they know each other really well. Tonight they're gathering at our house, exchanging gifts and indulging in DD's fudge and gingerbread, then they're going out to dinner to celebrate the beginning of vacation! With all their ups and downs this year, it's nice to see them pull together!
Do your teens exchange gifts with friends?

OK, this takes the cake. My DS13 got a call from one of his friends this afternoon, inviting him to a get-together of their usual crowd at
Hope you DS learns faster than mine (age 16). I got up the last day of school to find DS already up (unusual) and madly packing up the treats I had made for people at work. "Mom, it's Secret Santa and I need stuff." I told him he could take few of the treats but could not take handfuls. I asked if the person he drew was a girl because I had some red/green hair stuff. He didn't know! How can you not know if the person is a boy or girl? So he stuffed the treats in a gift bag and then added a Stewie Griffin talking pen from Family Guy that he regifted. Apparently the pen was a hit and I never got it straight whether the recipient was a girl or boy!
Love those morning surprises!
