my DD is 11.... Scary thought, and here I was worried about my teen! I'm glad her mum is so proud. I don't know what else she should admit to being. Hard shoes to walk in, I imagine.

I'm not glad the mother is proud! Sounds like she really hasn't been parenting.... the 12-yr. old has been drinking and smoking for a couple of years. The mom really needs to grow up and set a better example so the pre-teen can learn how to go through life like a decent person!

what a terrible story. i can't imagine what kind of life this baby is going to have...

baby --- they are both 'babies' ---- the mom-to-be is a baby!! 11 years old, this is just horrible. and the 'proud' grandmother, is obviously NOT a positive role model. who is going ot raise this child??

Thanks for passing that article on. It's good to know that we're not the only country dealing with this issue, as much as others would like us to believe...however, me thinks that lassie and her wee one are going to be on the dole forever....

Someone should take charge of the 11 year old child! And hope that her baby even makes it, no one deserves to be born into that kind of mess.

I have a 10 year old dd, and recently had the "big talk" with her, I wasn't sure if she was too young for it, but she was asking question about periods and tampons she had no clue what they were and wanted to know. I can't even imagine her in that position in a year LOL!!
