Should I have gotten mad?

DD and her best friend are in their last three weeks as Seniors and I can't even describe the level of Senioritis that they've hit. Both of their grades are good and they both got into their first choice schools for college, but talk about major burn-out! And, frankly, I have Senioritis, too. The teachers at the HS are really overdoing the whole work-til-the-very-last-day stuff.
Anyway, she told me that a few days back nobody was doing anything in their AP Government class (the AP exam is over)and they asked the teacher if they could go down and "study in the library". He let them and they walked off campus to an ice cream store instead. It was the last class of the day for them so then they just drove home.
I know she felt this was very daring and exciting. The most she's done in her four years of HS is get a detention for eating in the new building. She (guilty conscience) told me and I really didn't get too upset. This is unusual for me since I'm regularly referred to as the "strictest mom on the planet", but I guess I just thought it really wasn't that bad.
Do you guys think it was that bad?

I used the eye roll
No LOL I think that at this point, your daughter is gonna be just fine :) I think that sometimes we have to remember that this is the "only" time in their lives that they get to be a little irrisponsible LOL Just think, if she is going off to college which I'm guessing she is, she could go to the Ice cream store everyday instead of class and no one would ever know....of course until her grades came :) Did you ever sneak off campus? I know I did...and I won't tell my sophomore that LOL cause I'm the meanest mom too :) and so far he's never done it. I will be happy if he makes it till two weeks before the end of his senior year :)
