DS has a girlfriend (since this summer) that left for college in August.

sorry in rereading what I meant it to say is this

you can always say 'you know if I was your age I'd feel the exact same way'.

No. My dd was a good kid, drove ME crazy but I know she was a good kid. She wanted to go visit a female friend from church camp, a couple of hours away. I was NOT ready for her to drive that distand, again, mostly interstate. The compromise was, I drove her down on day. We met the friend at the mall. They then went and spent the day together, had lunch with the friend's dad, and then supper with me. I spent the day at the mall. IF going down with you, JUST for the day, isn't possible, or he is NOT happy with that?

Hey Cheryl - good to see you! How's your dd doing? Is she starting to move on from her ex? Is she still taking college classes?

Someday, your DD will look back to now with turn joy when she is married to her MR. RIGHT.
