My daughter is 14 years and I think she is sneaking outside at night when I go to sleep and seeing her boyfriend. She can see him anytime she wants too so I don't understand this. I have seen signs that she might be going outher window so I guess I will sleep on the couch tonight and see what happens. I just can't believe this is happening!!!! Don't know how to deal with this.

I have a great idea that I got from a mom w/ older kids than mine. She set her alarm, got up checked her DDs bed and when she wasn't in it...the mom got in. What a shock that was to DD when she got back home! Seriouly though it opened up the communication and lines for them and nipped the sneaking out thing in the bud. Oh...that and the fact that the DD had to sleep on her parent's floor in a sleeping bag every night until she had regained their "provisional" trust. Just a suggestion that worked for one mom I know.

I really like pp's idea, plus the sleeping next to them in a sleeping bag is such a perfect natural consequence for her misbehaviour!

If you have any evidence that she has been sneaking out, why don't you just bring it up? Even if she denies it, she will know you are onto her and maybe that will stop. I would be very worried about a 14 yo who is sneaking out to be w/ her BF at night and I would be discussing sex and birth control, if you haven't all ready.
