If she's anything like ds, once the worst was over, he's had up and down energy days...his started right before Halloween and he'll still have very dragging days, but most since about 3 weeks ago are pretty good...FWIW.

I wonder if mono has different severity levels.

Once ds got it, I did look it up and indeed there are varying levels of mono. Some can be up and about right away without major issues and have little to no organ swelling, some, like mine, are dragging and have no appetite for weeks, and have enlarged glands, liver and spleen and can't do athletics during this time (doctor's orders), some miss school and some like mine force themselves to go anyway (he was absolute worst near and during winter break so we got 'lucky' in that regard, but it definitely wreaked havoc on his finals that ended Dec 22). He's mostly fine, but on occasion is totally wiped out for a day, about once/week - I hear that can go on for months. In ds's case, it took about 4-5 weeks to get 'bad' in the first place; it was just a lingering tiredness and 'head cold' for a while that then blew up into the worse condition, which was then bad about 4 weeks, and now is on the downslide.

Dd looks extremely bad lol - she has black circles around her eyes and she has already lost 2 lbs. Her lymph nodes are huge and she sounds terrible, but no more fever lol...the dancing around didn't last long lol maybe 45 mins and back to the bed...her spleen and liver aren't enlarged (or they weren't on Tuesday) but she is still out of all sports for a month.

I hate this - I just wish they would tell me when to send her back lol.... I don't want to send her back too early, but I don't want to keep her home if it's unnecessary. She's going to push herself to go back, I know she is, just for the simple fact to see bf....
