So tired of the drama

Does the drama of hs girls ever end??
N has been cheering with the Varsity squad all football season, and it seems like every time they have an away game there is a ton of drama, lots of tears, and many threats to quit.

It's always something isn't it? Kelsie comes home and tells me all the stuff going on in school, but it isn't as much drama that she is getting involved in this year, at least not so far. Thank goodness! She is pretty tired of all that and just wants it to be over with. One of these days N will get past it all and hopefully soon, for your sake.
Good luck and let us know that all is really okay.
IKWYM - when L was in softball, it was always something, and it was hard for me to not say "just quit, then". But now it's not softball, just regular drama. I *get* that she just wants to vent at me, and then she feels better, but she gets angry if she thinks I'm not really listening or that I don't really *care* about 'A' being distant or 'K' and 'I" being nasty, or rumors about 'KD'....I try to care, but sometimes it's just more than I can listen too.
Repeat, the sane mama's mantra....this is only a phase, this is only a phase, this is only a phase!! One day HS drama will be behind all of us!!

We wish but drama is NEVER behind us.

Isn't that the truth! And I would have gone with the 'women' explanation if DH and I weren't home office. I overhear enough phone calls to know that the guys are at least as bad as the women. I think they get more into the 'demotion' end of thing while women get more into the 'divorce' type of things but it's is still alive and kicking!
You know, it's kind of funny because although there hasn't been much 'girl drama' with C since middle school, I feel like the last few months have been nothing but drama!
Just in the last couple of days I told myself I just needed to stop, step back and let the chips fall where they may.
>>>The "drama" is just an indication that your life and the things around you are getting more complicated. <<<
Maybe it's just me, but I actually DON'T have alot of drama in my life. Part of it is me working hard to stay out of it. People in my office know that I don't listen to or pass gossip (most of the time), and I stay away from "friends" who complain and gossip all the time.
I think the difference in HS is you're sorta stuck with each other until graduation. As adults we have more control over who we spend time with, and how we engage with them. Most adults have moved beyond the pettiness of HS.

I agree with what you are saying about to teens these aren't as much drama as they are to us. Kelsie is always getting mad at Dad, because he is always telling her to "cut the drama" or saying something about the drama. And of course to her it often isn't drama.
She does have a lot less than in the past few years, this year there isn't as much as there has been in the past. The drama that Dave gets upset with her about is really her moods and you know how that is with a teen girl and her hormones.
