Some tender moments from DD

I had a few really special/tender moments with my DD this week. Overall, she's a great kid anyway, but she definitely has her share of OVERTHETOPEMOTIONS and eye-rolling, etc. But, she also comes through with some very sweet things.
First, she asked me to drive her to the mall Saturday night (UGH - fighting the crowds for Macy's One-Day-Sale) so she could buy presents for her brother, her dad, and me! I had to sit somewhere and just wait - NO PEEKING! She's been saving allowance money all fall so she could buy special presents for us (a new photo frame for DH to use with his new digital camera, a spice rack for me, a cheese board and knives for both us - all three keeping in mind the new house we hope to move into in January).
Then, she had a serious heart-to-heart with me last night about how she's worried my job is too stressful and having a toll on me. She said "every night you come home so stressed, I worry about you". I realized that I *do* sometimes come home stressed, and sometimes vent at her, which I should be more mindful of. But also I told her "I vent for the same reason you do - I feel better after and it helps that you're listening".
Finally, tonight - she called to tell me where she was and then said "you don't have to pick me up. You've been driving all day and I can walk home"
Awwww - small things, maybe, but things that warm a mom's heart!

Oh, what a wonderful and caring daughter you have!
What a sweeheart you have there, sue!
That's what makes this all worthwhile ;-)
