Sorry If I Have An Attitude

As some of you know, there are drilling rigs all over the place. Two sites on my place alone... and then they constructed a pump station about 500 yards from me.

It roars like a jetplane about to take off.. but even worse than that, ever since it started up I've had water problems. My water well dried up and then the water well pump burned up.

Does anyone have a guess how much water you have to haul in just to flush a commode once? Over 2 gallons. And I have to drive all over the place to fill the containers up .... when drilling first started up 5 years ago and my water turned green, I tried to fight the oil and gas companies. All to no avail.

I've talked to many many people. All the people that have actually worked in the oil field tell me "absolutely, it can mess your water up, and even take it away".

Lawyers don't want to help me. I'm trying to get a new water line built from a drilling site on our property, but the red tape is fricking unbelievable. Of course, I can understand some of it. Especially as I will personally be supervising laborers digging over gas and saltwater pipelines.

So sorry for my attitude. And I gotta go get water again.

No sympathy needed, honestly. I LOVE my land, and being in the country, well sometimes, ya just gotta deal. And I will.

Love ya'll,
zz

Wow, I wasn't aware that oil drilling had that effect on the people that live there. Guess I've been listening too much too big oil companies. Do I remember correctly that you have livestock too? Are you having to haul water for them too, or is your other well ok?

I've been known to develop a less than supportive attitude at times too, I think it happens to a lot of us - some just go away for awhile, but I just spout off. ;)

Hope you get somewhere with the oil co and the red tape soon!

I think any of us would be a wee bit sensitive under similar circumstances, and I know I've been 'testy' in my posts on more than one occassion.

I do hope your troubles are soon behind you and you can enjoy a nice, long, hot shower!

Ouch. That must be hell having your acreage turned upside down. I hope it's over soon.

I often keep this tab open at work and come and go between work issues. Similar to what others have posted, sometimes I'll fire something off, then go back later and ask myself, did I really write that? hmmm. Probably the result of some external thing going on. I do know what you mean, and I have never thought of any of your posts as attitude. LOL

At least we all have our teens in varying stages of turmoil and success to keep us going!

Thanks for understanding Rose.

The stock tanks are full for the cattle, fortunately. For my 20 cats and 4 dogs I have been able to collect rainwater in barrels for the past 3 weeks. Before that I had to haul in water for them to drink a few times.... looking at a 30% chance of rain tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers.

When you mentioned collecting water in barrels it reminded me of a song my mom taught me when I was little.
