How does your school do prom (if it does prom)? Junior prom and senior prom separately or a junior/senior prom? At the school or off campus? Organized school sponsored after prom party or not?

Jr's have Ring dance, where they get their class rings.
Oldest kid went to a small single-sex Catholic HS with one prom that was almost exclusively seniors. The class basically divided themselves into thirds along academic lines, with each third arranging their own transportation and after-party.
It's a combined Jr/Sr.

My kids are new to the school this year, so I have no idea where prom is held, but I do know it's a jr-sr prom and that kids start asking one another as early as February. One half of the couple has to be a junior or senior, and I think they're allowed to bring outside guests as long as they have a signed permission slip.
DD bought her dress online a month ago. It looks like a costume from Downton Abbey and is gorgeous. She's pretty much guaranteed that no one else will be wearing the same dress!
