Sue ... just saw the news about the plane crashing into downtown New York. Everything okay with you and your family? I realize Queens is a bit of a distance outside the city, but I imagine you all travel in and out pretty regularly.

Hope to hear an update from you soon!

Julie

Thanks for the note.

We are all fine. The plane crash is about 20 blocks from DD's school, so she was spooked a bit (brought back memories and fears of 9/11/01 of course), but subway service wasn't affected so she got home without a problem.

It appears that this was "just" a private small plane that went off course (not known why). Miraculously, only two people were killed (pilot and passenger) - no one in the apartments, no one on the ground. The news is reporting that the pilot was a NY Yankees player.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts

I'm so glad you are all okay. I imagine just about every New York resident was a little spooked about this.

I've heard more of the news now too. It's amazing that there were no 'peripheral' fatalities, but how tragic for the family of the Yankee pitcher.

Thanks for the update.
