Surgery went well

DS17 had his surgery yesterday to release the entrapped nerve in his foot. It took about an hour, and the surgeon removed a large chunk of scar tissue that had wrapped around the nerve and had to resection the nerve itself. He was very pleased with how it went and expects a full recovery. Chris has done pretty well since we've been home. He is on several medications right now- pain relievers, anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and one for nerve pain- so he's a little groggy. They have him using a device called a CryoBoot- a cold water filled wrap around his foot that cycles fresh icewater hourly to keep the swelling down and relieve pain. This speeds healing and cuts down on pain meds- very cool idea (no pun intended). Dr says he will be able to play soccer in as soon as 4 weeks which just astounds me.
Thanks to everyone for your healing vibes- he is on the road to recovery :)

That's good news! I'm glad it went well for him and that the "worst" is now over. May he continue healing and be up and about soon!
