Surviving midterms?

How are we all surviving finals/mid terms? My DD15 has the first part of a two-day math test today. She actually seemed pretty calm about it, which was nice. Earlier this week, and over the weekend she got a little stressed out (Yelled at her brother for - gasp! - watching the televasion and talking - then felt awful).
So far she's gotten two tests done, and grades back, and she's happy with the outcome. This week is Art History and Math. Then Friday is the END OF THE SEMESTER!!!!!!!!! They have M-W off (no homework allowed!) and she is so looking forward to it!

Well ... C had two 4-day weekends with 3 days of mid-terms squeezed in between; two exams each day last week. This week is business as usual, though only 4 days of it!
C was disappointed in her scores in English and AP Euro; she really wanted to do better than she did in those two classes and I think she is still waiting on grades for two classes. So, not as good as she wanted, but overall, I think she did fine.
Glad L is happy with her grades! Yaay! Especially about the no homework thing. I think C has homework all the time -- over summer vacation, weekends, winter break, long weekends ... it just doesn't seem to ever end!
Finals were before winter break, ending 12/22 - that was ds14's first run with them, which I think opened his eyes as to what comprehensive test studying is like. He did ok, but at least his fear of not knowing what to expect is gone, and he's more determined this semester (we're already 3 weeks in of 18). The funny thing is, so far, there's lots less homework this semester across the board, and no quizzes/tests to date. Not sure why, but as they're ds's downfall, vs. regular homework or projects, we'll take it.

Midterms just started yesterday. Usually they had done 2 a day, reserving the last day of the week for 1 exam and then one period for makeups, so there were 4 1/2 days. This time, on Tues, they had one exam and then a full day of the rest of their classes. Then W-F, it's 2 exams a day. I didn't think that was a good idea since there were 2 exams today, they should have given them more time off to study yesterday. Plus makeups are now to be arranged by indiv. teachers.
My DD had Physics yesterday. She wasn't happy since her teacher told her that one lab was missing. She had handed it in and he lost it. Now he wants her to do it over by copying someone else's lab results, which doesn't make sense to me. She said "why don't you just give me 100, since you lost it?" She really has nerves sometimes. I don't know what the end result will be. I guess it wasn't something she did on the computer or she could just print it out again.
Today she only had one, which was Anatomy & Physiology. She did study a lot last night. I know I couldn't keep up w/ her schedule. It seems harder to me than when I was in college -- 5 honors courses and AP Calculus. I guess the easiest one (for me) would be Spanish IV, but then you still have to memorize a lot of words. She really likes the one called Violence in American Society, which is reading, watching TV and movies and writing about them.
DS17 was done with them last week.
Got and A on IB bio semester exam, but he had a C on a group project (chem, phys & bio students in group), so he ended up with a B-. He was upset cuz he said he and two others did most of the work, but not upset enough to ask his teacher about it. I told him, sometimes teachers make mistakes, doesn't hurt to inquire. But he's just too shy. (Also didn't go great on earlier tests in that class, so maybe the B- is legit, and maybe he knows that.)
He managed to get a B in calc, after spending about 10 hours on it with DH over Xmas break. How DH ever remembers that stuff I don't know. He studied engineering, but probably hasn't used calculus in 20+ years.
IB Chem he got a C- on the final, but ended up with an A- in the class. Don't know how that happened, but no complaints. Told him it's unlikely a he could pull that off at any college.
IB Engish--got an A on the exam and A for the course. He's one who rarely reads for pleasure, so I'm not sure how that happened. The teacher must like him!
Latin and Power Training are his easy classes I don't worry about.
Considering the hell we went through when he was suspended in October, he's doing alrignt. But I know he would've done better without all the psych stress through Oct & Nov. We've got to get rid of the zero-tolerance policies in our schools. No publicly-funded institution with the purpose of educating our children should be denying them the right to attend classes as punishment for engaging in an illegal activity outside of school. Especially when they were not caught in the act, but convicted themselves by admitting to the behavior after being interrogated and lied to by school administrators. Those who lied got off. Be sure to tell your kids to keep their mouths shut if they're ever interrogated by administrators. Until this happened, I always told mine to be honest, always. NO MORE!!

We had midterms the 2nd week of Jan.
***Update***
DD just called and she was very excited and happy! Seems I got my facts a little mixed up ...
DD was very proud to tell me that not only did she get an A in English after all, but she got the highest grade between the two advanced English classes on the mid-term! Woo Hoo! This was one of the classes she really wanted to bring her grade up in (she was at a C at the quarter) and it looks like she did it!
So, she'll wrap up the semester with 3 As and 3 Bs. I think she has every reason to be happy with that.
