Teen daughter advice

This is my first time here. I hope that I am on the right message board to discuss this. I really need some major advice. My daughter is 16, and won't be 17 until August. She has had a steady boyfriend for about 10 months. He comes over here every weekend. They don't go to school together. Also he lives about 20 minutes away so he spends the night on the sofa in the living room.
Well this morning I went into her room to make her bed and a little book fall open onto the bed and well I had to read what it said. She said that they had SEX!!! I FEEL SICK TO MY STOMACH!! I know that one day she would, but not yet. I really don't know what to do. Do I confront her? I can't tell my husband he'd flip!! Did they use protection?? Now I can't trust that they won't do it again.I know that they will.
I really need some advice!!

Read my post that i just put up: "NOT concerned about teen's sex". Same age, same sleepover deal. Funny how differently we both acted. Birth control is key at this point, as are condoms. Start talking CIVILLY now. NO yelling.

Ummmmm...I'm not sure why you've directed your post to me. I did not yell, and was acting civilly. I happen to disagree that it's okay to condone teenage sex, but to each his own. I agree BC is key, as well as condoms. Mike, how many guys do you know who are happy about using condomns? Food for thought....

i meant act civilly to your child when you discuss things with them. Most parents get upset and yell and that becomes counter-productive. My wife tends to get emotional and that just turns the kids away.
Condoms, oh yea, they're horrendous but they are MUCH more mainstream now than they were when we were 16. When i was 16 i had to literally steal them from relative because stores didn't have them, bathrooms wouldn't even think to carry them.
Today they give them out in my dd's school. They're at Walmart, the corner deli and in vending machines at teen clubs.
Disease turned the world into a sexual evolution - we evolved into a race where condoms are used out of necessity to live. Not the case when I was 16.
