This is a minor issue considering some of the things that people are dealing with on this board, but it has been nagging me for some time. My DS13 sleeps in his clothes every night. I've tried everything I can think of, but can't break him of this habit. He started doing this about a year or two ago. I swear, today he went to school in the same sweatshirt he slept in all night (and that he wore to school yesterday). He is a bit of a slob about the usual stuff--putting his dirty clothes in the hamper, hanging up his bath towel, making his bed, etc. He does shower once or twice a day so he's basically clean. But I just keep wondering how I raised a kid who thinks it's OK, not only to sleep in his clothes, but then to get up and wear them to school! I don't expect him to be sleeping in Superman pajamas at this age, but a clean t-shirt and boxers or flannel pants (or something similar) would be nice. I'm tired of nagging him about this and other things, and am just choosing my battles right now. Do your kids do this too??

When my boys were 12-13 this was kind of an issue too - and then they discovered girls, and while they still would occasionally sleep in the clothes they wore all day, they always showered in the morning and put on something fresh for school.
Had to LOL...
Yes, my boys did this too at that age. As long as they're showering.. :-)
The "just rolled out of bed" look changed when girls became more interesting.
Daddioe, Thanks to you, Rose, and cat.smack (and to everyone else who replied)! At least now I know my DS is not completely alone in this behavior, and it's good to know that there may be hope yet! I think I may try to have another talk with him about it--and take Julie's advice about being a little more insistent--and see if I can make any progress.
