Give them hugs and just let them talk it out. Death is always difficult to deal with but even more at such young ages. The next week will be a difficult time for all the kids in your community and for the parents. Just be there for them, attend the funerals and the wakes, encourage your sons to show the parents of their friends how much the friendship of their daughters meant to your sons.

My condolences to your community and to the parents of the young people that lost their lives.

I really, really know how you feel. In the past 2 years we have lost 9 young people. I've taught every single one of them. Other than the girl that hit black ice, every ONE of the accidents was caused by either drunkeness or stunting, and our whole community is reeling. In the latest incident, one of my current students did someone reckless and killed an innocent man, although the student was not injured. I'm hoping me teens have learned from this; I'm reluctant to let either start working toward their drivers license! But at least they've seen the pain and suffering first hand, so I think it might make it more real to them. Or not; we just had a kid on Monday roll his jeep (drunk). He's not badly injured, but it does show they JUST AREN'T GETTING IT!!! At the most recent funeral that I attended, the kids decided to pay a final tribute to Merle by riding their quads out to the cemetery - and half of them were drunk. Sorry I'm rambling, but you hit a really hot button here.
