In some cities, anyone caught trick-or-treating over a certain age limit -- usually around 12 -- faces jail time or fines up to $100. This ordinance was introduced to dissuade teenage vandalism, but should teenage trick-or-treating be against the law?

Our community doesn't have an ordinance against teens trick or treating, but in our family, age 14 is the last year you can go.
DS18 chose to stop after age 11; he just isn't into candy and didn't see the need.

My dd is in 8th and she is still going trick or treating! She still thinks it is fun to go w/ friends, but this will probably be her last year. I can't imagine it being a crime to go trick or treating, ridiculous!! Let kids have their holidays!
The teens go trick or treating here all the time.
Ramona Mom to 2 great kids and wife to one wonderful hubby since 1990!
My boys quit trick or treating in Middle School, but my Daughter dressed up every year until she was a senior in high school - and some of the costumes were really elaborate.
If they dress up I'm fine with it.
It's commonplace to see teens (even older teens) trick-or-treating in my neighbourhood.
Against the law to go?
