I just wanted to say thanks to all who responded to my post "did we over step our bounds?" when our DD's bf broke with her. All of you had a lot of wisdom to share. thanks so much. I guess this teen stuff is so confusing that I don't always know if I am being too strict or not or if i'm just nuts (yes).

Good news! She isn't mad at us and she isn't in a hurry to get back with him either. She told him (when he called to maybe get back together) that it was bogus that he broke up with her again and that her parents aren't to blame and that if he ever wants to get back with her, he'll have to make an effort to know us and be respectful of us and our rules. I am so proud of her!!

Good for her, you have reason to be proud of her. Sounds like she is seeing him a little more clearly than she was.

Thats great for you all :) I hope that she begins, like my ds did to see that the SO isn't all they are cracked up to be. If he was manipulating with the whole "your parents don't like me and are mean to me" he probably is manipulating other situations as well :) Good luck and I hope for her sake, she just moves on!

That's great news. Sometimes our kids are more on the ball than we give them credit for! Sounds like your DD has learned a lot from this experience that she can carry over to future relationships.

Congratulations to your DD!! She learned about herself and what strength she can have by taking that stance. I know you're proud of her!!
