They're getting so old (sigh)

With an only ds19, absolutely - he's off at school, admittedly only 8 miles away, but we MIGHT see him for an hour or two per week. Last week they had fall break, with Mon and Tues off - he came home for one aft/eve and dh and I had work the next day so didn't really see him off again. We just reminisce on how it was and can't get over how fast it went. DS now has a steady gf so on breaks he'll often go see her in Chicago, so we see him less even when he's off. I know it's how it's supposed to be but it is hard!

Hi...I sympathize and absolutely have these very same moods. Of course it's natural and the way it's supposed to go, but it still makes me sad and lonely.

I have 3 kids, also. DS-22 moved out on his own a couple of months ago. He is nearby, but still I miss him. The first weeks I kept thinking I heard him moving about, LOL.

DD-18 is in college and works and is on the go go go. She has little free time and when she does, of course she wants to see her boyfriend or other friends.

DD-16 is a junior in HS. She is the only one I see a lot of these days.

What can I say? Sigh....

With every single milestone my oldest hits now, varsity jacket, ordering class rings, etc. I have one of those moments. I have 2 young ones (2 & 4) and there are days I think goodness, I can't wait til they are old enough to do stuff on their own and don't need me so much, but then there are days I don't see the oldest for 4 days straight because she's so busy with work and activities and I am in bed before she gets home that I just plain miss her around the house and realize she'll be half way across the country in college in less than 2 years. Hugs!!
