Oh yeah...I vaguely recall Advent, having been raised Catholic. But since I've been a nondenominational believer the past 34 years, I can't say anything about advent wreathes. I can only tell you that this year I ordered 20 Madonna stamps, 20 Hannukah stamps, 20 Eid??? (Muslim, I think) stamps and 20 of the non-religious wintery stamps.

I'll be sure my mom gets a Madonna stamp so she thinks her hard work paying my tuition to a Catholic high school paid off.

I really am a Christian, but probably only because I happen to know more about Christ than about Buddha, or Allah or Krishna or Vishnu or......my mind is still wide open.

Happy holidays to all!

We are members of an Independant, non-denominational Christian church.

We're Catholic, so we will have and Advent wreath lighting in Church today. I even set up our own famly Advent wreath yesterday--finally motivated myself to start hauling out the Christmas decorations! Our family will light the candle(s) every night at dinner during Advent.

LOL, just updating my comment. We couldn't get DD out of bed in time this morning, so the Advent candle was already lit by the time we got to Church. Better late than never.

Gee, girl friend, are you a younger version of me or what!!

I was brought up observant Catholic with the nuns, complete with early morning mass (in latin of course) during Lent, monthly confessions........... You can not get more fervent
Catholic than French Canadians with a generous helping of Irish.

I am agnostic now as is both my kids and DH. We celebrate Christmas as a family event.

Well, the new church had an advent wreath up today, but it almost seemed to be a last minute
