DD !7 is due to get her tonsils out on June19th. Just wondering if any of you have had experience with a teen getting tonsils and how bad it was. She is lifeguarding this summer and hopes to get back to work in 10 days. Is that realistic? I have heard that this is a pretty rough surgery for teenagers.

When my daughter had her adenoids out at 4 (sure wish that they had taken the tonsils as well), she was not permitted to do any exertional activity like running for 2 weeks until the doctor saw her.
