Well, I had a laparascopy just this past Monday; had the left tube and ovary removed and the right tube as well, and a benign tumor taken off the right ovary. So now I am recovering at home. Feeling pretty good, but somewhat sore (can't go back to work for 2 weeks since I'm not allowed to do heavy lifting or excessive bending or stooping for that long), and SO BORED OUT OF MY MIND.

Of course, the kids and dh are around, but 19 dd is busy hanging out with friends, and working, and driving f-i-l and dh about since I can't right now, 17 dd is all caught up in getting ready for graduation this weekend, and ds is busy with A) his girlfriend, and B) studying for HIS finals next week. My employer sent me some lovely flowers, but I'm just at loose ends. Cheer me up, anybody???

Sending you cyber flowers (OK, the flower happens to be the "thank you" icon, but who cares!) and hugs! I'm glad for you that you had this taken care of (and VERY glad the tumor was benign!) , but I guess the timing kind of stinks! Will you be able to go to dd's graduation?

One good thing about your situation - you really CAN'T do household stuff, so the kids either help you or there isn't a darn thing you can do about it anyway, so it's not worth stressing about! As far as the boredom, I can recommend a few videos - "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" is out now, and we also really enjoyed "The Banger Sisters". I hope laughing doesn't hurt too much though!

Speaking of laughing, check out POCS for a good chuckle - someone sent me the latest "women's medications" via e-mail. Pretty funny! (trying to cheer you up here!)

I hope you feel better soon, drei - you just make sure you get pampered by those great kids of yours for the next 2 weeks! And keep ds off the skateboard too! :o)

thank your lucky stars and God that what you had was benign. I went in for an exploratory laporscopy a few years ago and ended up with a full hysterectomy due to ovarian cancer.

so-------- take advantage of your time off. read trashy novels. ask DH to get you a pile of old movies from blockbuster. take out those boxes of photos and put them in albums. clean out your rest rest.....

DREI! How did I miss your post?? I've been wondering how you've been all week!

Well - I'm trusting that this has the problem resolved now - for GOOD.

Any special projects you might like to do while you're off? LIke maybe making a special scrapbook keepsake for your dd's grad? :-))) Good books you haven't read? You have TWO WHOLE WEEKS of enforced taking it easy - my goodness, after everything you've gone through you're bored?? LOL. Go for a picnic one day. Drive out to your favorite place - with your romantic hubby - and be nostalgic :-)

I'M just VERY glad to see your post and know that you are healing and out of the hospital. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Drei, here is something to fill your hours (or waste them, depending on the POV!):

go to and download this puzzle game. Calmama told me about it and I got instantly hooked! I love it and find its not just a boredom-buster but a great stress reliever too. (I have a Mac and this download didn't work for me but somehow I was able to find a mac version with the search engines--and it didn't expire like some demos)

Disclaimer: I am not to blame if you get addicted to Snood and stop doing things like cooking dinner or paying attention to your family!!!!

Have fun!
