Trolls

Have you ever been on a message board where there's a "troll" - someone pretending to be someone they're not? I have - several years ago on another board - for moms of kids my DS's age. In that case, the "mom" posting had an improbably sad story, nothing ever went right, every horrible thing that could happen, happened to her. Each post she'd give out a little information, and kept people posting back to her time and again. Some folks even emailed her "off the board" and got very attached. In the end, the majority of posters came to believe she was a fake - it caused great division among board members - some folks actually tried to find her IRL and failed.
We spend so much time talking about how to keep our kids safe on the Internet, that we forget it's new to us, too. So, be wary of people whose stories don't ring true. We've got a great group here, but it wouldn't be hard for someone to fake us out.

Well, daddioe, me thinks you might have hidden Wisconsin roots there somewhere, you know a little much about our love of catfish here!
""I agree with that ... excessive posting about things that imo, are just common sense if a person would take time to think about it for half-a-second,"
Yup...I usually don't even click on those.

Glad I could help....
Watch it, daddio...you're making fun of my favorite food. I could live on cheese curds! (with vino, of course)
As for the city of Green Bay, well, I got pretty upset when I tried booking a flight to GB and the price of a car rental was twice that of rental from MKE. Cab fare was $75 one way. It was cheaper flying into MKE (90 minutes away) and taking a van to my mom's in Manitowoc, just 30 miles south of GB. The one-hour tour of Sheboygan en route I could've done without.
Lake Michigan adds more to those little WI cities than the Packers. (I'm not into watching big guys with blubbery bellies slam into each other.)

Oh boy, here in Buffalo you probably would never hear anyone say "white fish" we are real fish fry experts. The most common fish for our fish fry is Haddock. Happens to be my favorite fish too.
When I was in nursing school I worked in a fish market, we sold fresh and fried fish and other sea foods. Learned a great deal about fish in that year or two, the biggest thing being that I really never want to work in a fish market again. But I did love eating it, especially that deep fried haddock.
"In Wisconsin, they all use the term "white fish" in advertising their fish frys."
No, no, no......In WI we've got nothing but the best Lake Perch, with a capital L and a capital P! Have you even made it across the state line?

Ok..Ok.. I confess.. For fishing and biking trips,
I hear ya Janet.
A few years ago I flew into Twin County AP at Marinette,
"No, no, no......In WI we've got nothing but the best Lake Perch, with a capital L and a capital P! Have you even made it across the state line?"
Yup. This is what I remember! And in Milwaukee, we had to pay extra for the perch fish fry (and we did)!
Ha!!! I KNEW love of Wisconsin was in there somewhere!!
There is a couple in our town who, every august, decorate their front yard with 2 4' tall football helmets that look like they're head-butting.
