A turn-around?

Some of you may remember when I posted last fall about my dd (15) who was struggling in school. She was making mostly Ds and Fs, was forgetting to turn assignments, didn't seem to care, etc, etc.

Well, have things turned around! I had her evaluated by a school psychologist, who diagnosed her ADD (as I already knew) and dyslexic. The psychologist referred us to a psychiatrist, who prescribed a different medication for my dd, and I reapplied to the private school that had initially rejected my dd (turns out, they say, that the rejection letter went to the wrong person, and my dd should have been accepted at the beginning of the school year). Oh, well!

My daughter started the new school in January, has done well under the new medication, AND brought home 4 As and 1 B last week on her report card for the 3rd quarter!!! She has made new (and better, IMO) friends and her attitude around the house has been better. I am so happy with all these transformations!! (Of course, we still have our moments, but overall, it is so much better!)

I want to give a great big "thank you" to everyone that responded last fall offering those good suggestions!
