Two mini-brags

Please forgive me for two mini brags on my DD15. I'm so proud of how hard she works - and I love to see it pay off for her.

First, a short essay she wrote for English class - when she finished she said "this better get Mr. F's attention - I think it's great and it's my best so far this year". Well today it came back with 20/20 points and "incredible insight" as the comment - this from a very tough English teacher, who she's struggled with all year!

Second - L plays bass guitar - and has been taking private lessons for about 7 or 8 months. A few weeks ago, her teacher asked if she would play with a group his father teaches (a group that doesn't have a bass player). She had the rehearsal last weekend, and will be in the recital this coming up weekend. This is the first time she's played with a group outside of the HS band, and it a measure of how much her playing has grown. Her teacher says she's making great progress, and has a real knack for it! Practicing every day has helped too!

Thanks for the indulgence if you've read this far - feel free to share a brag of your own!

Sue! Those are great accomplishments for your dd! I'm sure she is so proud (I know you are) and y'all have every right to be. It is so exciting to see our kiddo's hard work pay off for them.

We vent so much on this board because our teens can drive us all nuts at times; it's so much fun to read the good things they do.

Kudos to your dd, and to you too. :)

How awesome is that? I'd be proud too; I know L works really hard at everything she does!

Congratulations to your daughter! Sounds like she knew she did great work and then got the recognition for it! That bodes well for her self-esteem and confidence!
