Valentines/Winter dance?

Does your high school have a Valentines dance or winter dance? Our local high school has a Vice Versa dance in February (I'm assuming they still do - my 'baby' has been out of high school for almost 5 years). It's girl ask guy and it's always a different theme where lots of the kids try to dress to fit the theme. A couple themes I remember were the roaring 20's and a night in Paris. When I was in high school we had Sadie Hawkins. It, too, was girl ask guy and it was always country/hillbilly themed.

It was a sadie hawkins dance when I was going to school also.  Last year they had a valentine's dance as a fundraiser by the then juniors for this year's senior prom.  But its not an annual thing, in fact this was the first year in many many years they did a homecoming dance.  The only thing they have this spring is the senior prom in april, which is good, between the dress for her formal cheerleading banquet and prom, and all the other senior expenses, I am tapped out!

Our high school has WinterFest, which is kind of like Homecoming for basketball season--there's a WinterFest "court" and "king and queen."  It's a semi-formal dance. It's around the end of January/beginning of February.  When Greg and I were at a neighboring high school last weekend for his vocal solo and ensemble competition, I noticed that they had posters up announcing their Sadie Hawkins dance.  Back when I was in HS, our Sadie Hawkins dance was alway in late November, and had a country/hillbilly theme.

Ours was always in November, too, with the country/hillbilly theme. Maybe it's an Illinois thing Sealed. How did Greg do in solo and ensemble?

He got a 25 out of 30, which is "excellent." Superior is the highest rating. But he does get to move on to states. I got scolded for not having him in private voice lessons, so now I'm trying to figure out how to juggle the budget to make that happen.
