I got home from work yesterday afternoon, and walked into a *very* clean kitchen! Ds15 had Swiffered the floor, taken out the trash, and cleaned off the kitchen table (which, if you could've seen that table, littered with mail and papers, you would understand what a monstrous undertaking *that* was!!) Plus, he had a load of laudry in the dryer and another one going in the washer. I walked in further, and he had picked up and vacuumed the living room! I was soooo impressed! He then handed me a jacket of his and asked if I would lay it on the bed in the extra bedroom. Now, mind you, he moved out of that bedroom and into his brother's room when brother moved out. The room he vacated was a mess. I mean, big time. You just can't imagine...anyway, I thought it odd that he asked my to put his jacket on the bed because all that was really left in that room was the mattress off his old bed laying on the floor (the box spring was in the garage), but I thought, okay...whatever. I walked into that room, and omg, he had cleaned and straightened, and Swiffered, and had even set up his old bed in there, complete with sheets!! I nearly dropped my eyeteeth! Of course, he thought it was hilarious when I walked in there, he knew I wasn't expecting what I saw. To top it all off, he had picked up alot of the "trash" in the backyard that the dogs had torn up (ie: a garden hose, pickets off the fence they had torn off, 2 old blankets I had put in their "dog house" for warmth that they insisted on dragging all over the yard, etc) Then, by the time I had finished cooking supper, he had made major headway on the garage and took all of that junk out to the trash. I'm telling you, that boy accomplished more in one evening than I could in an entire weekend.
I'm not sure what got into him last night, but I certainly wish I knew and could bottle it. We'd be rich! :)

Yay for you! Congratulations! So many times, we hear about the things that upset us with our teens (and that's the most of what many of us TALK about) - it's so good to hear something positive.
Did you ever find out why he did it? Was he looking for something - wanting to go somewhere? Or just energetic?
Double Congrats!!
First, that he actually did all this work.
Second, that he did it without hitting you up for some big one like MY kids would do!
