DD(16) had her first official date tonite. Current BF was keeping a secret (from her) his plans for the evening. DH did chat with him to find out all the details, DH even recommended to BF her favorite restaurant. She arrived home safely, all smiles and 30 minutes early!! DH was most impressed and he tried really hard not to peek out the window when they returned home, I only caught him once.
DD received 11 roses with a card that said "if you wonder where the 12th rose is look in the mirror". DH said "he is really good".
Teen giddiness and happiness abounds in our home tonite, even had a few chores done this evening voluntarily!!! I can hardly wait until the next date, maybe I could wrangle some window washing from DD. If I could get the entire family to go out with him on a group outing maybe I could finish my attic cleaning project.

Congratulations! Isn't it nice when we get some positive fallout from their relationships. :-)
DD is now going out with Tyler; a substance free, college bound, respectful, hard working, polite young man. DD no longer walks across the room; she floats. As far as I'm concerned he has reached "tolerable" status. As thus, he may now put his arm around my DD.
DD is so enjoyably goofy giddy and agreeable lately, I should take advantage of this while it lasts.
Perhaps she could clean the garage next.... ?

OMG! Where do you think he picked up this line? That's pretty funny if he's also 16 yrs old.
My DS17 came home from school at 3:15 and said, "F*** this v-day sh**!" I've got 2 soccer games back-to-back and we're supposed to be at the restaurant at 6:30. I ran out to pick up flowers for his gf at 6:00. Shy as DS is, I'm sure gf planned it all. DS just can't say no. They were also supposed to have gone to a movie, but apparently nixed that idea. Good thing cuz DS was studying from the minute he got home until he went to bed at 11:30. I can tell his romanticism is just like DH's--ooooohhh, not good.

LOL We ran the whole gammut here, from Z who went all out for his g/f, to T who thinks Vday is overhyped and just took N out to dinner, to J who thinks Vday is good for everyone else, but he's not into "that romantic sh*t" to S who completely forgot! (Really out of character for him, but that's another story. Iraq was not good to him.) Hubby did remember - dinner and flowers, plus flowers for C.
