Let's see if we can manage a fun, light-hearted thread - do you have any weekend plans?

DH and I get the weekend to ourselves!

I'm jealous... :-)
DW and I haven't have a kid-less weekend in a long time. Hope you guys have fun!

This weekend is my mothers birthday, turning 75.
At that age, I figure she doesn't need another sweater, necklace, etc..
First, the entire family will celebrate, then I arranged two nights for her and her "significant other" LOL in a historic hotel in town with dinner and a play. I arranged a limo to take them there with a bottle of champagne.
I have NO idea if she's gonna like this.......

Aww - I'd love that! That's so sweet!

I have a crazy weekend. Tonight, taking DS18 down to a university in the southern part of the state to see one of his friends perform in a concert version of Les Mis. Tomorrow, DS and I are both singing in a cabaret, and then, after the show, meeting up with my bf (who is working on a show of his own) for our first date in a week. Sunday it's church in the morning, a show in the afternoon and then dinner with a friend.

Used to have "kid free" weekends every other weekend, then older son decided he didn't want to visit Dad anymore - so there's not a day goes by I don't have one of them.

Hopefully I am doing NOTHING! For some reason, I don't think I'll be that lucky though. I'm back in single mother mode as dh went back to his base early this week.

DD had a ton of dr's appts yesterday, spread all over the place, plus gymnastics - we were literally gone from 8:30am until 9pm only to come home and find out from my answering machine that she had an orthodontist appt this morning!

DD has actually been doing her running and pt exercises so with lacrosse starting next week, I see a shopping trip for equipment in my weekend. Did I mention I HATE shopping? She has cheering Sunday night...

Other than that, I have no idea - it's supposed to be a nice weekend, so maybe opening the windows and doing some spring cleaning? Should mention I hate Cleaning too lol...

A couple of friends and I are celebrating one of our friend's 50th birthday party! We've rented a limo and we're taking her to her favorite restaurant for dinner, then out to a couple of local 'old haunts' and then back to her place for a sleepover! We've got some gaga gifts lined up as well as some sentimental things...it should be a lot of fun!

Pam, yours sounds wonderful - enjoy your time alone with H. My H and I haven't had any alone time in a while, I kind of feel guilty going away for a night. He'll be home alone with the dogs, poor guy. I will be home early enough on Sunday to make a nice dinner for us though, so...

Now that DD is gone to college DH and I have way too much alone time (LOL). We took one of the furkids (dog) fishing last night and might manage to make a couple of more trips with the other two dogs over the weekend. We never attempt to take all three of them somewhere at once.

The only thing I am committed to do is church with the youth on Sunday night and then after hours. Youth director and I are taking the kids to a nearby college after church and letting them play capture the flag on the college campus. It should be a lot of fun for the kids and I have fun just being with them so I'm looking forward to that!

We have a busy weekend. Tomorrow, DH and I are going to a Bat Mitzvah of the daughter of someone I know through work. It will be nice, but all work-related people and no one my DH knows. Leah is taking a class on Sat morning, so we got a neighbor (college girl) to babysit DS7. Sunday, DS and I are going to a "Model Seder" at our Temple (prepping for Passover), then Leah has a bass lesson, and then we're going into Manhattan to have dinner with my bro and sil (and nephews). They live in Moscow, Russia and we haven't seen them since late summer. My kids are looking forward to seeing their little cousins (4 and 6yo).

Whew! By Sunday night we'll be ready to crash!

For me this weekend will run pretty much like last weekend -- full of shopping!!! LOL!!! My dd is on a competitive dance team and next weekend we have her first competition of the season so this weekend is all about the last minute stuff. I still have to pick up her jewellry, some shoes for her hip hop number and some sundry makeup stuff. My son has a birthday party next week so we have to get a gift. Basically spending alot of $$$$.

Saturdays are generally hectic for us anyway with both me and my H working full time and the kids in school all week its the only day to get anything done. What helps this weekend is my H isn't working. Sometimes he takes some overtime and it really puts a dent in our weekend plans to get everything done.

This weekend was a pretty quiet one. On Friday I went to my son,Bradford's, swim meet and his team won, which was good. Then yesterday he went to work and then just hung out with his girlfriend. Reagan and Shea went to a birthday party last night, and just got home about an hour ago. Both are back in bed, since they only got 3 hours of sleep last night. Carlin, the youngest, went to the movies on Friday night, and had a friend over last night. My husband and I had a relaxing time at home, out of Carlin's way. We cooked dinner together and watched a movie. It was nice. Tonight the whole family is going out to dinner with some friends that are in town.
