Good morning, Pam! No real interesting plans here ... DD has a 4 day weekend in honor of Columbus Day, DS doesn't have any extra days off.
Yesterday, I told DD that we would go out to breakfast and then play some tennis, but she slept so late that breakfast became lunch and a little hanging around at a local farm/pumpkin patch/soap shop/nursery place. It is a very, very cute place. It's been a couple years since we've been there and it's even more charming then ever. (I've always wanted a place large enough to grow pumpkins! Maybe in our next home.) DD signed up for a class to make a 'Fairy Garden' there in a couple weeks.
Today, both kids are walking alongside the Youth Group float in the annual town parade, then maybe we'll walk over to the Chili Cook-off at the Community Center.
But I really want to take the trolley down to the Oktoberfest in a nearby community this afternoon. I went last year by myself and had a great time!
DS has quite a bit of homework yet to finish, so tomorrow afternoon will most likely be devoted to that :-(
Nothing exciting here - dd will be nursing her sprained ankle hoping it gets better so she can cheer at the pep rally and homecoming game, but it's not looking too good. So I will be/have been dealing with an extremely moody teenage girl. She did have plans to go the local haunted hayride tonight, we shall see. The weather here is mild for the extreme northeast, hopefully that is an indicator of a mild winter! I think we are in the 50's but nights have been cool in the 30's - but yay me - I haven't turned the heat on yet and it hasn't been uncomfortable yet!
It's Thanksgiving weekend here, so we're doing the big turkey dinner and such :-) Beautiful fall weather - it is my favourite season for sure (too bad it doesn't last very long). Enjoy your weekend!
