Hi everyone...

I know the one post I did not too long ago I was doing some serious venting and rambling over my daughter.

As I said to you in your first post, your Daughter sounded just like my nephew. Im sorry that it was all that I thought. Now The other thing that my sister learned is NO MATTER WHAT she can have NOTHING to do with her old life. That has been the hardest part, cause they will fight this. My nephew finally realized this after his 3rd relapse. I am so sorry. Go to the counceling, aa meetings everything you can do. Good luck, I will be thinking of you and come back to give us updates for sure.

Hi Shari. Sending you many many gentle hugs. You have a lot going on and I'm so happy that you were able to get the help you need for your dd.

Very often, people who are in recovery struggle with getting back to their normal lives and staying away from the people who brought them down in the first place. Her friend's are 'triggers' in her life on drugs and it will be very difficult to steer clear of them. I think it's great that you're aware of this and are seeking help in how to avoid this. Many parents choose to send their recovering teens to a special home following in patient care for this very reason. I am not personaly familiar with all that it entails, however, if you visit the following site and post under 'general board', you should be able to get a lot of support and feedback from parents in the very same situation as you and your dd: www.conductdisorders.com.

The home page can seem like you've landed in the wrong place, but if you visit the general board and just start reading, you will quickly see that it's a very private, tight knit community for parents going through a myriad of scary issues and daunting situations with thier kids (of all ages). I've been a member there for a couple of years due to certain behaviors of my 17dd and although the boards do not promise to give you the answers, the support is overwhelming! Reading about others' situations helps to keep ours in perspective and I've learned quite a bit!

You can also post over at the Troubled Teens board, but the conductdisorders board, I have found, is much more informative, has many more resources and you really get some solid answer to your questions. Best of luck and again, hugs to you and yours. I will keep your dd in my prayers.
