What are your kids doing tonight for New Years Eve?

DS went to best friend's house (directly after running 5 miles - hope he cleaned up!) to play Guitar Hero and hang out. I was monitoring the road conditions and called the house about 9:30 to tell him it was starting to ice up and he needed to come home or see if he could stay over. He seemed perfectly fine with that and came home. We'll have a discussion tomorrow, though, about how he does not answer his phone when playing Guitar Hero . .

DD, age 20 and 2 hours away, works at Starbucks and had a shift tonight until 11 and then again tomorrow from 9 to 5. Just talked to her as her shift ended and she got invited to a party at the last minute but decided she didn't want to be out driving . . hooray - signs of maturity!

Pretty boring! Happy New Year from the west coast.

For the past 10 years, we've always gone to a New Year's Eve party hosted by friends of ours whose wedding anniversary is also New Year's Eve.

It's New Year's morning - Happy New Year's everyone.

My lucky older son celebrated in London's Trafalgar Square last night, which is renown for incredible fireworks.

The rest of us went to our downtown First Night celebration (in lowly North Carolina LOL) and then home for movies. DS, 8, stayed up till midnight, and had a hard time getting to sleep because of all the firework noise. But, we all survived and are doing well this morning.

Things turned out to be not as bad as thought to be. Dave is still really upset with her. Me? I'm a bit easier and Dave will be really mad when he finds out I let Austin stop in for a little while to see Kelsie for a few minutes.

Anyway, Kelsie is all better today. I asked her if she had something to eat while she was out and she said they had gotten some Chinese. Bff thought the chicken dish they got tasted strange, Kelsie didn't think it tasted bad so she ate it all herself. Not long after that was when she got sick.

Bottom line,
