What Do I Do?

I don't know what I'm supposed to do ... turns out DD's school trip to Oregon and the 'boys only' horse camping/fly fishing weekend are on the same days! And that's NEXT weekend. That means I'll be all alone for nearly four full days. No hubby, no kids ... nothing! How weird will that be?
I'm thinking that would be a good time to do some serious 'fall cleaning', BUT ... a bunch of girly movies and eating chinese take-out right out of the container on the couch holds a great deal of appeal, too.
What would you do, if you found yourself with that kind of time on your hands? Just curious.

Then I would sleep late and maybe go to an antique auction or flea market. Dinner with one of my friends would definitely be in the plans. Cleaning would get real low priority on my list - maybe a little but not much!
Make a job list of gottas, wannas and don't really haftas and set aside time, and once you hit that time, go for the Chinese and movies!

I see absolutely nothing wrong with what you have planned! There is nothing better than curling up on the couch with some good food and a good movie in a clean house that will still be clean when you leave the room!
Have a great time!

I had a whole day just last weekend where I was all by 'me-onesies'!
I was sick that day though, so I slept late and did some cleaning (terrible waste of alone time). But, I also did a little shopping, got a movie and brought home a takeout (I wasn't cooking) and then fell asleep again until the troops returned. I really needed the rest!
Wow - a whole weekend - I honestly don't know what I'd do!
If it were me, I'd never do fall cleaning without the kids to help!!
I know that I'd leave and go visit a couple of friends, staying a night or 2 at each one. We live too far to get together too often, but not too far to drive if we have some days off.
Have fun!

Easy -- do things that I love without having to worry about arrangements for the rest of the family.
One day this summer I actually took one of my vacation days on a day when both my kids were busy with other commitments. And I went down to the Art Gallery of Ontario to see an exhibit I'd been reading about. My kids would probably like it once they were there but they'd never agree to go willingly. So I went and I sat in front of works I loved and studied them, read all the placques next to the paintings and just thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Now if I had a full weekend I think I would include a trip to the Royal Ontario Museum, go see a movie my kids would never like, spend a few hours at the hairdresser and get a pedi/mani, maybe a walk on the harbourfront. These are all to me "luxurious" uses of time nurturing my spirit.
And yes, of course, there would be the DVD-fest with popcorn in front of the TV. I have a six hour DVD set of Pride&Prejudice I haven't watched in over a year. I would indeed order some food in and plop a whole bottle of fine red wine that I would enjoy over the weekend.
Sounds like heaven to me....how do I sign up?
That sounds positively like heaven!
I'd probably spend a lot of time with my favorite passtime, at my sewing machine either quilting or doing some crafty thing.
I would definatly NOT do any cleaning, except the usual cleaning up after myself, dishes and the dirty clothes where they belong. I would spend a lot of time scrapbooking, also time with friends, no cooking...well maybe a bagel for breakfast, shopping all fun stuff. It is rare that there is time like that so I would take full advantage of it.
