I think what she did was pretty innocent myself. She was at home-all you had to do was look out the window. Yes, someone was over but he wasnt bothering you-you cant make the 'what if I was in my shorty jammies?" defense like you could if he was in the house.

If you were uncomfortable, I think gently telling her what you expect is all that is needed. Doesnt seem like a new rule is needed, KWIM? Just a 'geez, never thought about this but next time........'

Still, if she HAD come in to tell you he was there, what would you have done? Insisted he come inside and introduce himself to you and DH? Join you for a coke and snack? I hardly think you all were going to dismember him but, in THEIR eyes, maybe that's how they viewed it. They're not dating-not BF and GF-and perhaps they didnt want to be misread as such?

I expect teens of both sexes to leave at my kids curfew BTW
