Your DD sounds a lot like mine. She hates to ask to be included in anyone else's plans, feels as though she is intruding. But I always try to remind her that if she were the one with the plans and a friend asked if they could go along, she really wouldn't mind. Even now as a sophomore at college, she will call me to vent that everyone has something to do but her. She has a lot of friends and I think they don't realize she has no plans sometimes on the weekends. I keep telling her if she doesn't let them know she wants to be included, they don't know. Luckily her brother gave her the same advice so maybe it means more coming from him. At our High School it's not unusual for kids to go stag to homecoming and a lot do. Even the girls who go with dates end up dancing with the girls as a group. It has to be hard being the new kid, but sometimes when DD was hesitant to do something and I talked her into it, she usually had a great time and admitted afterward that she was glad she did it. I hope she decides to go. But if she doesn't, really 2-3 months down the road it won't make any difference....they just don't want to hear that now.
And I can see your picture fine, I use firefox for a browser, maybe it makes a difference?? Beautiful children!
I'm so glad she went to the dance and knows she has someone to dance with. You'll have to let us know how it all went.
My kids homecomeing dance was last night too. But as I have said before it isn't a big deal here, just a regular dance, nothing dressy etc. Jaryd had no interest and Kelsie went with a friend. They ended up leaving the dance early, because there weren't very many seniors there, so most of their friends didn't attend.
They always have the cafeteria open and most of the guys were in there. Last night was the opening of the hockey season for us here in Buffalo and there was also a Yankee's play off game on, so they had both those games on in the cafeteria. Kelsie did get to dance with one of the boys that she has had a bit of a crush on since 6th grade, they have been friends on and off since then. Depending on if they have classes together, she doesn't think he would ever date her, because "It's Joey Mom!"

Yes, IE is internet explorer...
Hi there, I'm reporting rather late (remember, computer problems?) but I also can't see your picture and I'm using IE.
I feel for you
<<In a way it's too bad homecoming is so important to her>>
I realized this morning that this wasn't so much about Homecoming 'the event' so much as it was about being accepted, fitting in, making friends.
