The board seems a little slow to me, what do you think? And I haven't seen a few regulars since the change-over--I hope that we haven't lost them!

Are you doing anything fun or interesting this weekend?

I agree! I've been hoping that everyone else hasn't just been unable to get ON the boards since I understand only certain browser levels can support them now! I hoep that if that's the case, they will be able to figure it out and upgrade the browsers being used...

Plans for the weekend? Hm. I took 4 11 yos to a rollerblading centre last night and am taking them to a wave pool today - so exciting, lol. I need to clean, like really clean - sort, box, give away likely 40% of my house but can never find a day when I can just stay home and get it started. (excuses excuses ;-)

How about you, elc? What's your weekend looking like?

Hmmm...fun or interesting? Well, we're going to a family birthday party for my 13 yr old nephew later today. Tomorrow oldest DS is bringing his new GF over for dinner - DD is postponing her trip back to college (after spring break) a few hours so she can meet her. The first should be fun and the second will definitely be interesting!

Interesting? We're hoping for LESS interesting, LOL!! For those who have NOT heard the soap opera, Lolo was arrested for fradulent use of an ID, underage drinking, & interfering with an investigation(for lying to the cop in the bar). She had been told by one of the two cops who arrested her, that they would keep the arrest record from going to state because Lolo's girlfriends' Mom is a baliff in the town the arrest occured in. Well, apparently the cop couldn't keep his word about not including state in the beef. Her drivers license is being suspended for a year, for fradulent use of an ID. I guess this is the state equivilant of "grounding" her. So now we have to go to court TWICE--once on the original charges, & again to petition for work & school driving privledges. And JUST as we were trying to switch to a cheaper auto ins co.! Our lawyer said there's nothing much he can do for us--they have her dead to rights--unless we plead insanity. I said, "Well, that works!!" He said, I'm only joking-& I said, I'm NOT! She's been pretty miserable, and to top it off, the 22yo sometime bf has been "busy" ever since this happened. He claims everything is fine, he just wants to hang out w/his buddies(at the clubs) before work picks up(he's a heavy equipment operator, off most of the winter), but she's upset. Did he meet someone older in the bar? Does he think there's nothing to do if he can't get her into the bar too? Since they were only "dating", does he think she just wants him for transportation now?

As for Rae, well, early last year she changed her withholding from *1* to *0*, but apparently she never noticed that the change on her paycheck went the WRONG way! When we went to do her taxes, we found that they had only taken $135.00 in Federal Tax, and about $1.00 in State!! And she made over $9000. Apparently the business office read her *0* as a *2*!! So she owes, & she is NOT happy that we are making HER pay. Our position is that she should have paid more attention(am I CRAZY, or what!) to her check, and also, since the money she'd been saving for study abroad, became a "vacation" fund after the war began, TAXES come before FUN!

So right now all I want to do is veg in my recliner, watch pay-per-view, & pray for BORING nights!

Oy, I don't blame you. Your problems make mine look like nothing. Oh, it's the same old thing here. My ds is not doing his homework--STILL. Very bad parent teacher conference last week. So this weekend, I'm sitting on him to make sure he finishes social studies and language arts projects and makes up the math work he is missing. Call me "Warden". LOL!

LOLOL ... sabr - ... I can see you FULLY enjoying your dds' kids and watching them deal with the innumerable situations of parenting one day (I know; preferably MUCH later...) They're going to end up being really great parents one day and it's going to be because they have a great mom and dad. They'll teach their kids with humor and strictness in a real balance.

HUGS to all of you. I hope that Lolo gets work/school driving privileges granted and that the rest of the charges will be dealt with more easily than not and that the bf comes crawling to her one day when SHE isn't interested ... and here's to wishing Rae success in her first major venture with the tax people and that she'll get her vacation one day soon ANYWAY. :-)

Fun and interesting? I dunno. We're going to take my 19 dd to O'Hare tomorrow at 9 AM to return to Maine for her third trimester at COA. After that we're going to some open houses (did I mention that we're house-hunting??) 14 ds has joined the baseball and volleyball teams at school so he has practices and games galore each week now, as well as juggling homework, chores, skateboarding and his gf, LOL. 17 dd is busy with senior activities now (for example, her senior class pix were taken last week). And dh has had several seizures this week; in fact I had to call off work one day to take him to the ER since he had one while slicing food with a knife and gashed his hand to the bone, necessitating a visit to the ER for 9 stitches, wound cleansing, a tetanus shot, and Xrays.

Today I was running around. Dd17 had to attend Saturday School from 8am to noon as a consequence for ditching last week. (It is about time that school does something resembling discipline, although it is really about them getting attendance money!) I drove her there to be sure she really went. I saw her walk through the gate so I assume she stayed. I picked her up also, and took her to the community college where she is taking a Screen Printing class on Saturdays.

Meanwhile I took ds19 (on break from college) clothes shopping. He is so easy! Walks in a store, chooses a few things, tries them on and says okay. And he's very grateful too.

Tonight the 4 of us will go out to dinner. Ds and dd have scarcely seen each other this week so we insisted they both stay home tonight. Ds flies back to school tomorrow night.

So far I don't have any plans for tomorrow.

Yay! I was finally able to ditch the cl hat! I hope I can get it back on when I go back to my board!!

Good grief Drei, what a week you've had again ... your poor husband and you. {{{HUGS}}}

Was it great seeing your CS home for awhile? Was it just like 'old times' or are you finding that the dynamics around the house & with siblings are different from when she lived there as opposed to when she's visiting?

I hope your dh's seizures will settle down again and that all will be well for awhile.

We don't have Saturday school here. Those poor teachers, lol.

Are you looking in Chicago Drei, or out in the 'burbs? That's a big jump after living in an apartment all these years--even if it was your building. I know--we lived in our 2-flat for 7 years. But I was THRILLED to move to the 'burbs. I could stand in the gangways, spread my arms, & touch the wall of my building & the building next door. Our kitchen window was opposite the bedroom window of the house on one side, & our bedroom was opposite the kitchen of the house on the OTHER side. You couldn't sneeze without the whole neighborhood knowing about it. I swear if snuck in my kitchen in the DARK, the lady next door would see the FRIDGE light go on, & the next day want to know if I was having cravings! I had to take out the garbage with my eyes closed because the family on the OTHER side had their senile grandpa living with them, & he'd stand on his back porch wearing a fur hat, a dago tee, & slippers. My tenant would answer the door with her parakeet sitting on her head, with bird poo in her hair. We told the NEXT tenant no pets, & they hid a cat in out attic. DH is VERY allergic to cats, & he began having attacks, & we couldn't figure out WHY. We found out, when they called us to complain about hornets in their apartment. We go up & find a hornet nest the size of a football, and about 40 lbs of cat poo in out attic!!! The NEXT tenant was a family from Kuwait. We rented to a family of 4, & 13 moved in. The NEXT one was probation officer. She called us up at 2am, drunk, cursing US because the PREVIOUS tenant stole her calling card out of the mailbox. She knew it because they ran up a $600 bill in one month, with calls to Kuwait! DH yells into the phone, "You're a police officer! What're you calling ME for? Go ARREST 'EM!!!"
