I know what you mean. Kelsie will be 18 on the 22nd and I can hardly believe it. But she isn't going away to school in Sept. There are times that I wish she was going away to school, but I know I don't really want her to leave yet. But Jaryd is still around for a couple years, too.
IKWYM - time flies! We've got 3 more semesters of HS, but (like you) it seems to me that time goes by too fast! L just walked out the door to take her first SATs - the real beginning of "the college process". YIKES
I guess we have to keep reminding ourselves when we're cleaning up all of their messes, chauffeuring them all over the place, and riding the emotional rollercoaster that this time is precious. It does go fast, though. It seems that especially starting in about middle school, it's all just a big blur!
But I hear there are some advantages to being an empty nester too! Enjoy these months with your "baby", Pam! :-)
It is so different here with two out of the house. We go for goodly periods without hearing from them and then they call 5 times in a day! DS1 was suit shopping-he has a big interview next Monday and wanted Dad's advice. DS2 bought a George Foreman grill and wanted to know what he could cook on it and then calls back later asking what to do with the big pack of meat he bought. I has visions of this family pack of thin sliced steaks spoiling in the frig or, worse, on the counter(he did that with his first carton of eggs!)

I know what you mean Pam!
Sue, mom to Leah and Seth
Pam, I don't know where the time has gone, I ask myself that almost every day. My DS graduated just last week.
When your DS goes away to college next year, will you be an empty-nester? Sounds both scary and wonderful, doesn't it?
I understand completely, Pam!
