13 year old girls, I mean.
Even dd and her bff are even saying every day "4 more months, 4 more months" LOL.!
Our experience has been that high school is MUCH better than jr high/middle school because kids begin to have interest-based friendships (the band kids, for example) rather than proximity-based friendships (we're friends because she's in 4 of my classes.) It makes a huge difference. And although competition in high school can be very strong, there's always another social sphere you can flee to if you need it.
My DD got thru middle school relatively unscathed, except for a brief nasty period the first semester of 7th grade, but a lot of her friends didn't. My son thought it was total hell, so boys are not immune to the drama either.
People who teach this age group are saints.
I think you hit on something there - when kids have too much free time, there is plenty of time for a ton of drama.
Both of those sound like great activities - completely different from show choir, which is a plus IMO.
I know just what you mean.
She's sort gotten out of everything except show choir and she needs some other things to keep busy and out of the drama.
Yep, that is kind of where it started.
Hmmmm, that might be a good movie to watch this weekend while dd and I are both sick and on the couch.
