iVoice Brandi Jeter asks a question to moms of teens -- would they give condoms to their kids to encourage safe sex?

What about you?

Oh yes...without a doubt. I also put my daughter on birth control pills when she ask. It's a matter of life and death. There are things out there that don't wash off!!

You're definitely right - we all know that the only 100% sure way not to get pregnant or get an STD is abstinance. But looking back now - if I knew my kid was going to have sex anyway - I'd make sure they had access to condoms (since I have boys). Along with the talk about my beliefs and all that (ROFL not that THAT is going to matter). Condoms are certainly not a guarantee against pregnancy or STD but if used properly they can lessen the chances considerably.

yes, yes, YES, YES

We have two daughters and by the time we found out they were SA it was a little late for STD protection and it was with guys who were first timers too. Had they changed guys, HELL YES

YES!! I am fortunate enough to have raised me 2 boys that they can and need to be open and honest with me. My youngest son (16) has had the same girlfriend for over a year, well, several months back he came to me and told me he was wanting to have sex with her. Although, yes-16 is way to young, but I talked to him about how it will change their relationship, etc. like I always have. But, I bought him condoms, and i know where he keeps them, so I make sure there s condoms there. The one of many rules

Let me add this to those amongst us with teens getting into those years when teens start getting SA.

Teens, like even adults, get careless with birth control. And that is part of the reason that typical use is far less effective than perfect use.
