Dear friends,

On page 4 of "teen sex and parent ground rules" down below is a post by Bunnyrose about her grandson of four weeks having surgery today.

I have been checking in all day looking for good news. I can only imagin the fear this would bring.

For those that missed it, my 4 week old grandson is in the hospital because he has pyloric stenosis, a condition in which the pyloris, a muscle around the bottom of the stomach that regulates how food flows from the stomach to the intestine, is enlarged and can eventually completely cut off the flow of food from the stomach to the small intestine.

Hugs to you and the entire family, especially the kids, what an experience to have to go through so soon. DH comes from a "different" family, though I tend to call it flaky, so I understand the frustration level he's probably feeling right now. I hope things get better and Wyatt is ready to go home soon!

I meant to welcome you when you posted in the roll call thread below. I see that your teen has a heart condition. A good friend of mine has an 11 year old son with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He's had numerous surgeries and procedures as well. He's the youngest of 3 boys - the first one was fine, the 2nd one had some heart issues and had a couple surgeries as a baby/toddler and poor J got it the worst. My friend found out AFTER J was born that her MIL had lost a baby shortly after birth due to a heart condition so there was evidently something genetic on her dh's side. J seems to be doing well right now although as he gets older his limitations become more and more evident to him and with the whole puberty thing around the corner on top of that I think he has some emotional days. Is your ds done with surgeries as far as you know? J will likely have to have at least one more as he grows into adult hood.
