I don't know if any you heard of the tornados in central IL, specifically the one that hit a smallish town named Washington. That's only about 5 miles from where we live. I know several people that live in that area; fortunately none sustained severe damage. The mom of the youth director at church had her home completely flattened but she is OK. When Justin and his ex first moved back here after Hailey died they lived in an apartment there in Washington, which - from what I can see of the pictures of the tornado's path - is likely no longer there.... Here's an article/video about it: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local/illinois&id=9329608

I wondered about you and yours Pam and I am glad to hear that all is well.

We had one of those cut through about 10 or 15 miles south of us a few years ago. Now LORD that was close enough.

It picked up and tossed around forty foot truck trailers like they were toka toys being tossed around by a toddler. You would not think wind could do that. Unlike yours that killed multiple people, no one was killed by ours, which given the size and lingthe of the swath that it cut is truly a miracle for those whose lives were spared.

I also take special note of your rememberance of little Hailey. She awaits us on the other side.

Over the weekend, I saw several more news stories on Washington and though our tornado of a few years ago did much damage, it was nothing like the one up in your neck of the woods. Looking at the damage, with something like 2,000 homes damaged, I was stunned that there were not many more deaths.

I also saw on the evening news over the weekend that a school down in Springfield sent ten chartered buses up to pick up the Washington folks to come down to the championship game. What a heartwarming story. You never get enough of those.
