Teen sex and parent ground rules

I am looking for some thoughts on the subject of setting ground rules, and opinions on how others would have handled my situation.

Shortly after my DD turned 13, she attended a family gathering, bringing her "partner", a 14-year old boy she introduced as her "boyfriend".

Arryl,

Your comments are spot on with what our OBgyn says.

Something else that comes to mind with teen sex is that over the past century or two the age of puberty has been falling a few months with every generation.

I'm having a hard time believing that having children at 20 or so y/o is such a horrible thing.

Oh I agree I'll take an oops over a stroke, everyday and twice on Sunday. Love our little oopses!!!!

Over the years the gunpowder has been reduced several times. For some women that makes even a few hours late toooo late.

Having children when you are young is so much easier. I see these forty year old woman, say what a beautiful grand baby, and after they say "my baby" I think wow, I'm tooooo old for that again. LOL. I like being granny.

I just can't buy the argument that because something is customary, it's the best alternative.

I don't think it's a question of young women being "capable".

You are comparing things that aren't related to each other as if there were a cause & effect.
