I am a single mom to three teenage sons.
I'm sorry. Something is obviously going on if he's gone downhill so fast. Glad he's talking to someone tomorrow. Since he's 17 you still have a bit of 'clout' so don't give up - it may take several sessions or trying a couple different therapists to get to the bottom of it. Have you asked your other ds's if they know what's going on? Are they concerned too?
AN UPDATE....17yo has gone down hill quickly....gone from honor student to failing three classes, confessed to smoking "just weed", lying, missing jewelry in my home etc....he is currently grounded with no "communication" and says he will "die" without talking to his friends...appt on Monday with therapist....I am sooo worried....
I just had to respond.
Hey, keep you hands of Texasl LOL
Also, I think part of it is that Texas has a long tradition of claiming that they were the "Republic of Texas" from 1836 until 1845, having fought and won it's independence, had several presidents.
Well, considering that Texas has an economy that is the 2nd largest in the nation and the 15th largest in the world (in 2008, Texas had a gross state production of $1.224 trillion) and Texas's per capitia personal income is $36,484 (ranking 29th in the nation, which is below the national average), I'd say "banana republic" ain't far off.
Love those horses!
I work in an office with big connections to folks out in the "Peoples Republic of California." They refer to us a the "Banana Republic of Texas," Florida, etc. They have angst with us for many reasons. Politically the two states are polar opposites.
