I don't know where in Canada you are but in Barrie, Ontario, there is a boarding school that specializes in troubled teens. They offer financial aid. The reason I know this is that I was considering it for my DS who's behaviour got a lot like your DD's.

There are waiting lists for the free counseling in Ontario. Where I live, it's about a year if your child isn't a danger to herself or others.

My daughter only had to wait 3 mths and if your on a waiting list at least you know help is coming which is a relief. Keep checking in to see how much longer the wait, sometimes things change. it's not aperfect system for sure but, it's better than nothing.

That's really good to know. There are days when I'm still considering the place. DS is on ADHD meds (has been for years and years), is taking Prozac (for about six months now and it's been amazing for him), and is seeing the counselor at school (I could get him in with the free counseling, but due to his age, he has to set up the appt. and he doesn't want to).

Life is MUCH better but he still has his days...

Yes, I have dealt with this but with my son.

And I also told my son today that he cannot come home unless he agrees to follow my house rules. I am so upset that I had to say that, but I have another younger son in the house and cannot have him pick up those behaviors. I told him I want him home but I will not accept the prior behaviors and drug use. I am still crying about this, but it is the right thing. Parenting is tough to say the least, and this is so heartbreaking.
