Birthday Parties- Drop-off or stay?

When your child is invited to a birthday party, do you just drop them off or do you stay at the party with them?

I'm pretty lucky and know all the parents with kids in grade one (she is in a 1/2 split) but I don't know any in grade 2.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this, Rebecca. It is difficult for sure. I think I'm just going to keep sticking around at the parties where I don't know the parents. I'd rather know what is going on instead of hoping for the best!

Reagan has only been invited to one birthday party and it was during her Kindergarten year. The party was at Chuck E Cheese and we stayed but so did all the other parents.

That is a good point, Melissa. I guess it depends a lot on the situation and level of supervision. I think that, as moms, our intuition is pretty spot on. I guess I just need to continue to trust my instincts.

Chrissie, I'd probably stay in a situation like that too. We held a birthday party there once and I remember being so frantic watching out for everyone. Although, I really do like their stamping system at the door, I still worried someone would leave when I wasn't looking.
