The RSVP thread started me thinking the lack of etiquette in parents these days.

Good point, Faith, about not having time to entertain the parents if they stay :)

Parents not RSVPing to the party?

It's common courtesy and it only takes a second. Just do it. Please.

Parents that drop off young kids and leave?

Depends on how young...I think if the kids are younger than 5 the parents should stay for sure. Usually when I take Nora to a party, I only stay if the parents ask me to help or if it looks like not many parents are staying...OR if it's something like a pool party where a lot of supervision is required for safety reasons. What I don't like is when parents stay and just stand around. If you're staying, HELP for goodness sake.

Parents that bring uninvited siblings to the party?

Uggg, don't even get me started. If it doesn't say "siblings welcome" on the invite, don't bring the siblings. Period. I have a four year old, and I never ever bring her to partys Nora is invited to, unless she is invited as well. I can't believe anybody does this. I had a party for Nora where we invited her whole class, and there was a 15 kid limit. Fortunately

I have a gripe to make about my 6 year olds birthday party.

That is so frustrating! I'm glad she still had a good time, though. I don't know how parents expect to teach their kids respect when they don't show any themselves.
