Can't Get Them To Bed Early Anymore

My 6 and 7 y/o dd's have to get up between 5:45 - 6:00 a.m. every schoolday in order to have enough time to catch the bus at 6:35 a.m.

I would suggest darkening shades on the windows too. Not letting them watch television too close to bedtime and just continue to do the routine like you do. Maybe each night you can up their bedtime by 15 minutes and maybe you can get them back down to a reasonable hour.

I would think it would be ok if they talk and play a little as long as they keep it down and stay in bed. It may help them to relax and go to sleep. I know it is so hard. My daughter is a nightowl too. I started just upping her bedtime slowly. Most of the time it works,but sometimes just like us she gets insomnia and just will be dragging the next day. I can't make her sleep if she isn't tired.

I am sorry I can't be of more help. Hopefully they can start getting more sleep soon. Atleast they can sleep on the bus.
